Red dirt, kites, palm trees and more RED DIRT!

The title of this blog sums up my week. Mark has decided to start finishing our back yard one load of dirt at a time thus dirt has been a big part of my week! Those of you who deal with ordinary old brown dirt will never truly appreciate the lasting impact red dirt makes on new white shoes, freshly laundered shirts or newly vacuumed carpets. However between all our dirty moments we have had a little fun in between. We have done a lot of kite flying in preparation of Saint George's Annual Kite festival coming up next weekend. Sun River Golf Course closes golfing for the day and opens up for kite flying, carnival rides and community booths. We had a great time last year despite having a really crappy kite!

Let's go fly a kite up to the highest _ _ _ _ _ _ If you are a true Mary Poppins fan you will fill in the blank! Come on sing it out now!

Brianna using her shovel to move dirt!

We make Brianna work for her dinner, no free rides in this house!

Our latest addition to our plant family, this tree is called the Mexican fan palm. Hopefully we won't kill it!

live little palm live!

I have to give a shout out to General Conference this past weekend. Once again there was some amazing talks I especially enjoyed President Uchtdorf's and Elder Hollands, now to just implement the counsel!

Love the tree, and I love that you are teaching Brianna good work habits at such an early age!

The kite flying festival sounds like so much fun. You guys seem to find all the fun things that go on in the community.

And Conference "was" wonderful. Elder Holland was my favorite speaker by far. What an inspiring talk!

I love the pictures of Brianna shoveling the dirt. I have a picture of McKell at almost the same age shoveling some small gravel that we had brought in for some landscaping. Good luck with the yard, and the palm tree looks great!
